BREAKING NEWS: Gunmen kidnap Pete Edochie

An armed gang on Sunday evening kidnapped ace Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, in Nkpor near Onitsha, Anambra State.

Our correspondent reports that the gunmen blocked the car in which Edochie was travelling from Onitsha to his hometown, Nteje, also in Anambra State. The kidnappers abandoned Edochie’s car and took him in their jeep.

The same gang was suspected to have kidnapped an unidentified youngman on Oguta Road, Onitsha.

The spokesman of the Anambra State Police Command, Mr. Emeka Chukwuemeka, confirmed the kidnap of both men to our correspondent on the telephone.

The kidnap of the ace Nollywood actor has worsened the security situation in the state, where many high-profile persons have been seized by kidnappers.

Many of them were only released after various undisclosed sums were paid by their relations
