Make Up Application (Update 1)
Mineral Powder Foundation Instructions
Cleanse face and moisturize.
Allow the moisturizer to absorb-skin should be completely dry for proper mineral application.
To begin, remove the seal from the sifter, leaving the sifter itself intact.
Tap a small amount of mineral powder into either the cap or into a small shallow dish. Then, lightly dip the powder brush into the minerals, and use the lid or dish to swirl the powder into the brush evenly.
Lightly tap off any extra powder collected.
Apply the mineral powder in thin layers using DOWNWARD strokes.
It is easy to over-do at first, as the powders are very concentrated.
If you applied too much, use a sponge to remove excess.
If you need additional coverage on specific areas, a smaller concealer brush is recommended. Follow the same process above, but only apply the powder to specific areas, such as directly on blemishes.
It is recommended that you use the tools which were designed for these powders. This is not to sell product-the results are visibly better.
Suggestions for Avoiding Application Problems
With practice and by carefully following our instructions, you will be amazed at the complete and natural coverage our minerals can offer you! You should achieve a sheer, smooth flawless finish. It is easy to overdo when you first work with these powders, as they are very concentrated.
“Too Much Shine”: Layering too thickly can cause the appearance of shiny looking skin. Avoid this by applying the minerals in THIN layers using downward strokes with the powder brush. Keep adding thin layers until the desired coverage is seen.
“Accentuates Fine lines or Pores”: This is usually caused by using too much mineral powder. Our products are very concentrated. Very little is needed. Make sure you are using the brushes for this product.
“Uneven & Blotchy”: Applying minerals before your moisturizer has been fully absorbed, or using a very heavy moisturizer may cause this. Make sure your skin is completely dry, and use the recommended powder brush.
“Wrong Color”: To customize a color, some people may have to blend two shades to achieve the perfect match.
TIP: If minerals look powdery, wait a few minutes for skins natural oils to emerge.
Mineral Shimmers Instructions
As EYESHADOW
Simply use a sponge applicator or brush, & lightly touch it to the desired color. Apply it to the eyelid. For a more dramatic look, use a damp applicator.
As EYELINER
Use a thin eyeliner brush, dampen and lightly touch it to the desired color. Apply under your lower eyelashes and/or over your upper eyelashes.
As LIP COLOR
First, apply a clear lipstick base. Then, using a lip brush, dip it into the desired color and apply to the lips.
As NAIL POLISH
Using clear nail polish, dip brush into the polish, then into the desired color powder, and paint on nails. Polish may also be mixed in a separate container for larger batches. Do the above with existing colored nail polish to change its shade.
As BODY SHIMMER/HIGHLIGHTER
Using a blush brush, dip into the desired color and spread a light coating of powder over the shoulders and chest for a beautiful shimmer glow. For hair, use your blush brush and dip into the desired color, then apply a streak of color. Finish with hairspray.
Mineral Bronzer Application Instructions
Use a dap of your favorite moisturizer (or even suntan lotion). Using the palm of your hand, mix the lotion & a small amount of Bronzer. Rub onto exposed areas.
Mineral Blush Application Instructions
Loose mineral blush is very concentrated, and should be applied sparingly. The simplest way to apply is using a cotton ball. Press the cotton ball onto the sifter, and tap the jar so only a small amount of blush powder gets on the ball. Gently glide the blush onto face & blend.
If you prefer, you can use our blush brush, using the same technique above. A traditional blush brush is not recommended, as it picks up too much powder.
